Professional Tiling Guide Landu Novastar™ ST3431 — Hydroxypropyl Starch Ether (HPS)

Follow these five steps to achieve maximum bond strength, coverage and durability with ST3431-based tile adhesive systems.

Substrate Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and structurally sound. Remove dust, grease, loose material and any previous coatings before application.

Mix & Apply

Mix adhesive uniformly to a lump-free consistency. Apply with a notched trowel — select 4–12 mm notch depth according to tile size and weight.

Coverage Requirement

Achieve ≥ 80 % adhesive coverage for standard dry areas. Wet areas, pools and exterior facades require ≥ 95 % full-contact coverage.

Curing Time

Allow 24–48 hours of adequate curing before grouting. Foot traffic and load bearing should be avoided until full bond strength is achieved.

Environmental Caution

Protect freshly tiled surfaces from direct sunlight, rain and freezing temperatures for a minimum of 48 hours after installation.
